Luxury Retail Performance Practice

Underperformance, corrected.

Atelier 8 works with luxury and premium retail brands to turn underperforming flagship stores into consistent commercial performers through an eight‑week, floor‑level intervention built around one principle. The work happens on the shop floor, not above it.

Eight weeks. On the floor.

The Approach

Floor‑level intervention. Daily rhythm correction. Commercial uplift measured in real time.

Recent work has delivered sustained uplifts in sales and conversion across London flagship locations.

Floor-level intelligence

We work where the takings happen. Behind the till, on the rail, in the fitting room. Never from a deck alone.

Eight-week cadence

A finite, exacting interval. Long enough for habits to set, short enough to hold accountability.

Commercial, not cosmetic

We are measured against store takings. Not slides, not satisfaction scores.

Founder

Melanie Hordagoda

24 years on luxury flagship floors. Not above them. On them.

Melanie Hordagoda built Axel Arigato's entire European retail operation from a single London store into a multi-site network, exceeding annual budget across every location she opened. Before that, 24 years across Mulberry, Maison Margiela and houses from Germany, Italy, Sweden and France.

Most recently she delivered a 33.1% conversion uplift at Mulberry Regent Street and 14.3% at Covent Garden, both measured like for like against the same period the prior year.

Atelier 8 is built on 24 years of being in the room, doing the work and earning the trust of teams that didn't always want to be fixed.
